Race Around Austria – 2018
August 13 - August 18
Europe’s Hardest Bicycle Race!
There are several options available:
* RACE AROUND AUSTRIA – Cycle 2,200 kilometers (including 30,000 meters of climbing) NONSTOP once around Austria on streets that run along or near the border – either alone or as part of a team.
* RACE AROUND AUSTRIA 1500 – This is different from the classic Race Around Austria in that it is a much shorter race. However, the rules for the two races are mostly the same, including those that deal with safety measures, the pre-race inspection, and the need for a crew and a pace car. Therefore, the 1500 is not only ideal for cyclists who want to prepare for the classic Race, but also a great option for anyone who wants to participate in an ultra-cycling event with longer-than-normal breaks.
* RACE AROUND AUSTRIA CHALLENGE – Cover 560 kilometers (and climb over 6,500 meters) as you cycle all around Upper Austria. This special 24-hour version of ultracycling takes place at the same time as the Race Around Austria. It offers beginners a fantastic opportunity to get involved in the exciting sport of ultracycling. It is a 24-hour race that takes the competitors along most of the border of Upper Austria. Whereas a classic 24-hour race involves cycling over and over along the same 20-kilometer-long circular route, for the Race Around Austria CHALLENGE you will only complete one long loop. Each cyclist can be accompanied by a maximum of one support vehicle. The number of entrants for the Challenge is limited to 50 solo riders and 50 two-person teams.
